The “Frühjahrssymposium” (German for spring symposium) is one of Europe's biggest scientific conferences organized by young scientists for young scientists. It is held annually in spring and hosted by a different JCF regional board or a group of JCF regional boards every year. Along with plenary lectures given by worldwide renowned researchers, talks from young scientists from all over Europe play a central role in this three-day conference. Another highlight are the poster sessions with several hundred posters from chemistry and related scientific fields. The spring symposium is accompanied by an entertaining program providing plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. This conference presents a unique possibility for undergraduates and graduate students from Germany, Europe and overseas to present their work to a specialist audience.
This year, we are very optimistic that we can have a symposium in presence again! The Frühjahrssymposium 2022 will take place from March 23 to March 26 in Hannover and is organized by the regional boards of Hannover and Göttingen. Under the motto “Communicating the Future”, the next Frühjahrssymposium will place special emphasis to science communication.
While research and collaboration give us the tools and possibilities, the communication of ideas, processes and results is crucial, within and especially out of our own scientific community. Communication in all its facets of presentation, discussion and listening is the key to developing not only our knowledge, but also inspiration and ideas to shape our future. Therefore, for the first time, the young members of the German Physical Society (DPG), the German Society for Biochemistry Molecular Biology (GBM) and the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry (DBG) will participate in the spring symposium to promote interdisciplinary connection.
This year’s symposium offers a variety of exciting presentations and lectures covering various topics across different fields of chemistry, as well as related fields like physics and biomolecular sciences. Additionally, you will find many opportunities to connect with fellow researchers – either during the poster sessions, at the conference dinner or at the different social activities – and to interact with your future employers at the sponsoring stands.
We look forward to meeting you in March 2022 in Hannover!
